Ravi Hari Kaur, aka Janice Bourdage, MSW, LCSW, is a certified Kundalini Yoga and Meditation instructor, licensed clinical social worker and holistic psychotherapist. With over three decades of experience as a yoga instructor, she has held long-term teaching positions in Manhattan at such notable venues as the United Nations, The New York Open Center, H.B. Acting Studios, Universal Force Yoga, and Kundalini Yoga East. She taught at Kula Heart Yoga from 2008-2016 and currently offers workshops at West End Yoga and The Yoga Loft of Bethlehem. She is honored and proud to be a part of a vibrant and growing community of yoga teachers and practitioners in the Lehigh Valley and is committed to upholding a sense of cooperation and support among the many wonderful yoga centers in our area. While Kundalini Yoga is her first love, Ravi Hari also studies and greatly appreciates the discipline of hatha yoga. Additionally, she is certified as a Level I practitioner in the Phoenix Rising Yoga Therapy tradition. She is a member of the National Association of Social Workers and The International Kundalini Yoga Teacher’s Association.
A “second generation” Kundalini Yoga instructor, Ravi Hari considers herself fortunate to have studied directly with Yogi Bhajan, Gurucharan Singh Khalsa, Ravi Singh, as well as other senior instructors. To those who have held and continue to hold the space for the teaching of this very sacred tradition, Ravi Hari is infinitely grateful and bows to the teachers in the Golden Chain who have come before her. Yogi Bhajan came to America in 1969 to create teachers who would share the profound and effective technology of Kundalini Yoga at a time in the history of the world when strength of character and vision among humans is most needed. He instructed his students to become ten times better than him as a teacher. This is Ravi Hari’s legacy and hope for her students - that they may go on to become teachers and role models in their own right, set the bar ever higher, and, in sharing their divine gifts on this earthly plane, help to make the world a better, kinder, and more compassionate place for all living beings.
Ravi Hari currently lives in Bethlehem, PA, where she teaches yoga, counsels on-staff at Bethlehem Counseling Associates, and lectures about wellness. With her background as a writer, professional modern dancer, performance artist, animal rights activist, and wellness speaker, Ravi Hari brings to her classes a love of communication, movement, laughter, words, and the workings of the human mind. She is intrigued with the notion of how people learn and is constantly looking for ways to help each individual master the basic building blocks of whatever discipline she is teaching. She believes that while everyone, given the right environment and tools, is capable of learning, teaching is for those who can remember a time in their own lives when that special someone took the time, offered unlimited encouragement, exercised infinite patience, and then, let go…. and watched with joy as YOU took flight!
