The allure of meditation is the many ways it benefits us- the body/mind connection, the improved ability to focus, the way it enables us to make changes in our lives while staying attuned and aligned with our core selves, even so far as to enhance our sense of wholeness in ourselves and oneness with all else.
These benefits can seem so out-of-reach, so fantastical, and the "process" of meditating so mysterious that we dimiss it as something "I just can't do" because "I can't sit still/stop thinking/concentrate/etc"- ironically all the things that meditation can strengthen with practice. No matter how often we hear that there is no one way and no wrong way to meditate, we are sure that we won't be able to do it.

In these 4 weeks we will discuss meditation in general and that week's practice specifically. Each week will focus on a different way to meditate, and class will include appropriate & very gentle asana to prepare you for the practice, whether by opening the legs & hips to sit, opening the torso for breath, or through movement deepening the connection to our whole body which houses our consciousness.

Meditation is something you can do anywhere, at any time and for any amount of time- 10 breaths or 10 minutes, eyes open or closed, seated & still or moving through the world. The only requirement is your willingness to open your mind and heart, and listen deeply to the wisdom from within.
